Will Dark Colors Absorb Too Much Heat?

In a word, no. The opaque Ooze Tube actually lowers the surface temperature of the mulch directly underneath it. In the photo at left, the surface temperature of the mulch was lowered by 22 Deg F, as compared to the surface temperature just six inches away.

Sometimes, intuition doesn't correspond with data... if you don't believe ours, measure it yourself!

This photo was taken on an actual planting in downtown Atlanta, where reflective heat loads from concrete and asphalt were extreme. High vehicular traffic also contributed to the high ambient temperature (106 Deg F).
